Feet in the Soil 2 is a celebration of the Aboriginal/African lifestyles; it's also drum playing for the enjoyment of it. James Asher takes trance music and examines it in different forms, from the organic, tribal sound of indigenous percussive instrumentation like bongos and djembes to modern synthesized elements that have captivated DJ's and club music fans. The latter shines through on "African Sun," a very upbeat, keyboard-friendly song that blends a pop mentality with modern trance while percussion heavy pieces like "Janjara" and "Standing Ngomo" take the more traditional approach with entrancing, yet simplistic drum beat structures.

Cybertribe
"This highly listenable trancey dance mix features the didge among environmental sounds, ambient vocal chants, spoken-word vocals, and tasteful synth work. Its from the label whose motto is music for people on the path - I like that. And I like the rhythmic, warm selections of Sacred Memories. Cybertribe does seem to strike some hidden tribal chord deep within my modern soul. A must for lovers of the didgeridoo and anyone who liked Deep Forest" - NAPRA Trade Journal.

This album is an unforgettable experience!
"It's been two years since I reviewed James Asher's excellent Feet in the Soil. Asher mixes ancient and modern instruments to create a lavish and intoxicating homage to the palaces of Rajasthan. As with Feet in the Soil, Tigers of the Raj bursts with highly charged world-beat dance music. But where the former emphasized the rhythms and instruments of Africa, Tigers features a strong focus on instruments from India and the Middle East. More than 20 musicians contribute to Tigers. While Asher leads the way with keyboards and percussion, also contributing to the melodies are guitar, flute, tambura, and vocals. Percussion includes table, djembe, frame drum, and ankle bells. Asher's compositions (he shares credit on two tracks with Craig Pruess) are filled with wildly exotic rhythms that almost drag the listener onto the dance floor." - NAPRA Journal.
