Thich Nhat Hanh
Under a bodhi tree in India 2500 years ago, Buddha achieved the insight that three states of mind were the source of all our unhappiness: ignorance, obsessive desire and anger. All are equally difficult to control but, in one instant of anger lives can be ruined and our spiritual development can be destroyed. Now, in the 21st century, medical science tells us Buddha was right: anger can also ruin our health. This text offers a different perspective on taking care of our anger, by treating the anger as we would a crying baby - by picking it up and talking to it, trying to find out why the baby is crying. Filled with stories and techniques this book offers a wise and loving look at transforming anger into peace in order to bring harmony and healing to all areas of our lives affected by this difficult emotion.

Osho
Many know him as the guy with the 92 Rolls Royces; others are still calling him the "sex guru." Now you can hear all about it directly from the only man who knows the whole story. Drawn from nearly 5000 hours of Oshos recorded talks, we hear the story of his youth and education, his life as a professor of philosophy and years of travel teaching the importance of meditation, and the true legacy he sought to leave behind: a religiousless religion centered on the act of meditation and the teaching of "Zorba the Buddha", a celebration of the whole human being. "Osho was not afraid to tackle the worlds major religions, pointing out inconsistencies and hypocrisy where he found them and simultaneously drawing together their best aspects into a synthesis grounded in meditation. Osho also answers some of the criticisms leveled at him for his seemingly outrageous behavior and his iconoclastic tendencies. He proves a fascinating man: a prolific writer and lecturer, highly educated, and deeply passionate about his own search for truth. Whether or not one is interested in Oshos teachings or in the controversies surrounding his movement, his autobiography is entertaining, insightful and for some, perhaps, even enlightening." - Booklist.

Compassion is a word that has been used to describe a range of human behaviors and attitudes, from sympathy and forgiveness to mercy and charity. In this tenth volume of the popular Insights for a New Way of Living series, Osho examines the nature of compassion from a radically different perspective. He points out that passion lies at the root of the word, and then proceeds to challenge assumptions about what compassion really is. Many so-called acts of compassion, he says, are tainted by a subtle sense of self-importance and desire for recognition. Others are based in the desire not really to help others, but to force them to change. Using stories from the life of Jesus, Buddha, and the world of Zen, Osho shows how the path to authentic compassion arises only from within, beginning with a deep acceptance and love of oneself. Compassion includes an original, 120-minute talk by Osho on DVD. This visual component enables the reader to experience the direct wisdom and humor of Osho straight from the source.

Eckhart Tolle
When Eckhart Tolle came to Findhorn, true magic happened, and the whole weekend is captured on audio CD in Eckhart Tolles Findhorn Retreat. The CD is carefully edited down to create a deeply moving experience for listeners. Tolle provides simple tools for transformation - the clear guidance needed to deeply realize the magic of every moment. The main topic of Tolles talk at the retreat is stillness. He explains how compulsive thoughts become as we analyse, interpret, and label every conscious experience we have. In such a state we can no longer perceive the sacredness in ourselves and in that of the natural world around us. Our experience of life becomes nothing but a never-ending reel of thoughts, opinions, and viewpoints. Tolles light-hearted delivery provides sparkling highlights to the jewels of wisdom that he shares with us. When we enter the deeper dimension of stillness that lies dormant in each one of us, we find peace. Stillness reconnects us to the sacredness of life. Tolle says This is why were here - to deepen our awareness of that dimension. If you become truly present, you find the sacred is everywhere.

H W Poonja
This is a completely new collection of teaching dialogues between Papaji and visitors who came to see him in Lucknow in the middle of 1991. At that time only about fifteen people would come each day, and all the satsangs were held in the living room of Papajis house. Ramana Maharshi, Papaji's teacher, had advocated doing self-inquiry as a long and continuous practice, but in the early 1990s Papaji tended to use it as a battering ram to break down the sense of individuality in the people who came to see him. Visitors would approach him one by one in satsang and ask their questions. He might humour them for a while by talking about whatever they were interested in, or he might tell stories about some of his adventures in the Himalayas, but sooner or later he would come back to the question `Who am I?' and make the person he was talking to try to find the answer to that question as he or she sat in front of him. This was no intellectual game. He would compel people to look inside themselves to the place where thought itself arose, and by doing so he would frequently give these people a glimpse of the permanent substratum that underlay their sense of personal identity. Papaji was one of those rare beings who not only not only had the experience of the Self, he also had the power and the authority to give glimpses of that state to the people who came to see him. In this new collection of dialogues one can see him bearing down on his interlocutors, making them focus on their inner sense of `I', and dismissing everything else they had to say as superfluous intellectualization. The results were remarkable and outstanding: day after day he brought about awakenings in people who came to see him, some of whom had had little or no spiritual background.

Intuition deals with the difference between the intellectual, logical mind and the more encompassing realm of spirit. Logic is how the mind knows reality, intuition is how the spirit experiences reality. Osho's discussion of these matters is wonderfully lucid, occasionally funny, and thoroughly engrossing. All people have a natural capacity for intuition, but often social conditioning and formal education work against it. People are taught to ignore their instincts rather than to understand and use them as a foundation for individual growth and development-and in the process they undermine the very roots of the innate wisdom that is meant to flower into intuition. Includes many specific exercises and meditations designed to nourish and support each individual's natural intuitive gifts.

Our biggest fear is that we will become nothing when we die. If we think that we cease to exist when we die, we have not looked very deeply at ourselves. With his usual blend of stories, exquisite analogies and guided meditations, Thich Nhat Hanh takes the reader through the same examination of death, fear and the nature of existence that Buddhist monks and nuns have been performing in their meditations for 2500 years. The understanding of no death comes from exploding the myth of how we think we exist. Knowing how we actually exist produces the state of no fear. This is a new subject for Thich Nhat Hanh and many people will turn to him for his help with fear and death.

Eckhardt Tolle
Eckhart Tolle is emerging as one of today's most inspiring teachers. In The Power of Now, already a word-of-mouth bestseller, the author describes his transition from despair to self-realization soon after his 29th birthday. Tolle took another ten years to understand this transformation, during which time he evolved a philosophy that has parallels in Buddhism, relaxation techniques, and meditation theory but is also eminently practical. Eckhart shows listeners how to recognize themselves as the creators of their own pain, and how to have a pain-free existence by living fully in the present. Accessing the deepest self, the true self, can be learned, he says by freeing ourselves from the conflicting, unreasonable demands of the mind and living present, fully and intensely, in the Now.

Sex matters to us all. The Osho approach to sex begins with an understanding of how important love is in our lives, while at the same time acknowledges that the journey into love cannot exclude our innate biological energies. With this perspective, it becomes clear that the tendency for religions, and for society in general, to associate sex with sin and morality has been a great misfortune. Sex Matters begins by deconstructing the layers of sexual repression that the condemnation of sex has inflicted on humanity. Throughout Sex Matters - in response to questions about everything from jealousy to premature ejaculation, the role of intimacy and the differences between men and women - Osho proposes a vision that embraces sex as a fundamental gift from nature. We learn how orgasm offers a glimpse of timelessness, thoughtlessness, and pure awareness - biology's way of pointing toward the consciousness that helps us to understand ourselves. Finally, we are presented with a clear choice: a repressed sexuality that leads to pornography, perversion, and a stunted humanity or a playful, respectful, and relaxed innocence that supports us in becoming fulfilled and whole, as nature intended.
