GOLDEN BOWLS
Ref: MX144
Karma Moffett
Golden Bowls, recorded at the Land of the Medicine Buddha Monastery in 1995, is an international classic in the field of meditation music which has received little attention in the UK. It is extensively used as a background for massage, tai chi, and yoga. Twenty-three years ago Karma Moffett was one of the first artists to record the music of antique hand-made Tibetan Singing Bowls. The 13-bowl set played on Golden Bowls represents an 18-year process of collecting only the finest Bowls of superior quality and harmonic attunement. As they are played randomly, complex harmonics build on top of the primary tones of the Bowls, creating an expansive, ethereal experience. The Bowls have a wide range of notes from deep, resonant bass notes to delicate bell-like high notes. An album which should be in the collection of every sound healing enthusiast.

MOTHER OF THE BUDDHAS
Ref: MX152
Kirby Shelstad
In this epic work, Kirby Shelstad presents a musical rendering of ancient Tibetan and Sanskrit texts in a rich and elaborate setting full of devotion, spirit and energy. In the Tibetan schools of Buddhism, the lady Tara is known as the 'Mother of the Buddhas compassion' while the Prajnaparamita is known as the 'Mother of the Buddhas wisdom'. Mother of the Buddhas was composed and created with devote intention and the listeners journey in mind. "The sacred chants of the yogis and siddhis of India were revolutionary. In the spirit of ecstacy and spiritual insight, they were like the rock or jazz music of their day, on the cutting edge of society, beckoning listeners to wake up. Few artists have been able to capture the essence of this divine tradition with as much elegance, inspiration and funk as Kirby Shelstad." - Robert Sachs. "This is a masterpiece... the ultimate yoga CD." - Erich Schiffmann.

Ref: IG128CD
Various Artists
In Chinese Turkestan, the ancient brotherhood of the Naqshbandi Sufis perform the zikr, an Islamic calling to God built upon wordless chanting. In Morocco, the Ganawa brotherhood performs a leela-serene and healing nights of music and trance.
